Animal
by Maxwell Enochs
I am a mythical beast made of misery and wayward soul
I bite, I tear, I scratch my way out into the wilderness each day
I beg to be believed in
I am a common beast made of flesh and bone
I yawn, I stretch, I shuffle my way out of bed each day
Still, I look life in the eyes
And beg to be believed in
